In today's post, we would be touching on tips and tricks pertaining to navigating quickly within a worksheet. Some focus areas include scrolling from top to bottom faster, scrolling from left to right faster, selecting the last used cell, selecting the first visible cell and so many more.
Move from top to bottom of a column quickly
At times, you may find yourself working with a large dataset with thousands of lines of information in excel, and there may be a need for some back and forth while processing the information. With this in mind, it would be extremely time wasting to scroll by clicking your mouse on the scroll bar or by pressing just the down arrow key. To save some time, some of the following tips may be useful.
Move from top to bottom: To scroll down your worksheet faster, hit the Pg Dn (PageDown) key continuously and keep watching the row numbers. Every press of the down arrow key while on a worksheet skips to about 55 rows down. When approaching the target row, release the Pg Dn and use conventional methods (like mouse, down arrow key) to scroll up to the desired row or cell.
Move from bottom to top: The methodology is quite similar to that discussed above. Hit the Pg Up (Page Up) key continuously and keep watch for the row umber of your target cell. When approaching the target row, release the Pg Up key and use the conventional methods of down arrow key to locate the exact cell you desire.
Move from Left to right of a row quickly
Again, a model may have endless rows to the right and scrolling with the scroll bar or right and left arrow keys are serious time wasters. How can we save some time? Follow these steps:

Moving to the First and Last Cell in a Column
When working on a range in excel it is very likely that you would be going from different points to the last or first cell in the range. Again, scrolling through the scroll bar is less than convenient. There is therefore a need to learn a thing or two regarding navigation to the last or first cell in a range.
Move to the first cell in a column: Select any cell within the column and press Ctrl + Up arrow Key
Move to the last cell in a column: Select any cell within the column and press Ctrl + Down arrow Key

Moving to the First and Last Cell of Data
To move to the first and last cell of a dataset spanning multiple rows and columns, simply follow this:
Move to the first cell in a data: Select any cell within the data range and press Ctrl + Home key
Move to the last cell in a data: Select any cell within the data range and press Ctrl + End key
